China Just Threatened Nuclear Attack on Japan for its Support of Taiwan
Yet the history between these three regions has been far worse in the past.
In a disturbing move, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) approved a controversial video on a state-sponsored channel that declared the following message:
“We will use nuclear bombs first. We will use nuclear bombs continuously. We will do this until Japan declares unconditional surrender for the second time.”
It also stated that China would wage full-scale war on Japan if it sent so much as a single soldier to defend Taiwan against a Chinese takeover. Although it quickly went viral and garnered 2 million views, it was deleted.
The threat wasn’t unwarranted; Japan’s deputy prime minister said two weeks ago that Japan must defend its neighbor Taiwan from militant reunification with China. This totally reverses the status quo for the past seven decades, in which China has been able to lobby other countries into backing down into a half-recognition that Taiwan is just a ‘runaway province’ of China’s.
