I think the point she was trying to make was that the narrative of colonization and abrahamization of "pagan" cultures isn't really progress or improvement or "civilizing" if seen with the lens of womens' rights to wear what they want.

There are a few things worth adopting from more ancient and earth-centric eras, which is something the academic establishment in India isn't really open to acknowledging. It's not a mentally decolonized sphere of discourse, and articles like these can open our brains to what could be possible if we expand our epistemic toolbox.
