No one should accept statements about one's consciousness being higher or lower - because that is not actually the gradient here! It's about coarse or subtle, selfish or compassionate. This can only be recognized by it activating and growing those qualities in others! The fact is that if you look closely enough, these "higher" things are actually totally empty (of themselves).
